Apple Pay | Samsung Pay

Apple Pay®

Pioneer Valley Credit Union offers Apple Pay® a convenient, safe and easy way to pay while on the go, using your mobile device.

Using Apple Pay® in Stores

You can use Apple Pay® with your compatible Apple® device to pay in stores that accept contactless payments. Visit the Apple Pay® website for a list of participating merchants and mobile apps, or look for one of these symbols at checkout:

Some stores might have this symbol on their card readers and point of sale terminals, but they might not be currently set up to accept contactless payments including Apple Pay®.

Using Apple Pay® within Apps

With a compatible Apple® device, you can use Apple Pay® to pay within apps when you see the “Buy with Apple Pay®” or “Apple Pay®" button as a payment method.

What device do I need to use Apple Pay®?

Apple Pay® is available in the United States to customers with compatible Apple® devices running iOS 8.1 or later.

Here's what you need to use Apple Pay®

  • A compatible Apple® device. A list is available on the Apple® website.
  • The latest version of iOS
  • United States as your selected region
  • Touch IDTM or passcode on your device
  • iCloud® account
  • Eligible Pioneer Valley Credit Union Debit Card

Setting up Apple Pay®

To add your PVCU Debit Card:

  • To a compatible iPhone®: Open the Wallet app (formerly Passbook) and tap the plus sign in the upper-right corner, then follow the steps on the device.
  • To a compatible iPad®: Open the main Settings app on the device, then go to Wallet & Apple Pay® (formerly Passbook & Apple Pay®), tap add Credit or Debit Card, and then follow the steps on the device.
  • To an Apple Watch®: Open the Apple Watch® app on the paired device and go to Wallet & Apple Pay® (formerly Passbook & Apple Pay®), tap add Credit or Debit Card and then follow the steps on the device.

If your card successfully loads and activates, no further action is required. If activation is required, call our member services department at 413-733-2800 for Pioneer Valley Credit Union Debit Cards.

Samsung Pay®

Pioneer Valley Credit Union offers Samsung Pay® another safe and convenient way to pay using your mobile device.

What device do I need to use Samsung Pay®?

  • Galaxy Note5 or newer
  • Galaxy S6 or newer (other device options such as the Edge and Active may be available)

Setting up Samsung Pay®

You can use Samsung Pay® virtually anywhere you can swipe or tap your card. Samsung Pay® makes transactions easy - swipe up to launch the app. Secure with your fingerprint. Hover your device over the card reader to pay. Note: only compatible with select cards and Samsung® devices.
