Youth Accounts

Pioneer Valley Credit Union offers a rich variety of products and services catered to your child's age appropriate needs.

To open a Youth Account, click the button below.

  • Select "Youth and Fiduciary", the type of account, your eligibility, and required information. Add the "Youth Account" option by clicking the plus sign.

 Types of Youth Accounts

Build a strong foundation for your child's future! As a special gift to kickstart your child's financial wellbeing, Pioneer Valley Credit Union will deposit the initial $25 for our general "Youth Account" savers under the age of two.

In preparation for opening this account, please provide any two documents listed below:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • School ID
  • Passport

In addition, parent/guardian must provide primary ID. This account serves our savers up to age eleven.

Super Savers Account

Save for the future, today! Super Savers must be between the ages of twelve to fifteen. Open a Super Savers Account with an initial $25 deposit to save for your child's future.

Teen Savings and Checking Accounts 

Pioneer Valley Credit Union encourages young adults to be financially responsible by offering accounts that teach life skills. Members in this age group have access to:

  • Savings Account
  • Checking Account
  • ATM/Debit Card
  • ValleyOnline Banking
  • CU on the Go App
  • Direct Deposit

These great services are available with the support of a parent or guardian. To open a Teen Account, members must be between the ages of sixteen and seventeen.

Youth Accounts come with a wide diversity of features, programs and services that are catered to refining your child's financial wellbeing.


Student Essay Contest for Seventh and Eighth Graders

Pioneer Valley Credit Union encourages creative writing to build upon expressive thought through prompts based on current events. The top essays selected compete at the state level.

Members and their children are eligible to participate in this program for a cash prize. Applications are accepted annually from Fall to Spring.

Pioneer Valley Credit Union Scholarship Program

Each year, Pioneer Valley Credit Union awards four well-deserving high school seniors a scholarship to help with the rising cost of a college education.

Students selected can receive up to $2,000 in scholarship funds. The program runs towards the end of each year. Winners are selected and awarded at a ceremony in the Spring of the following year. Credit union members and their children are eligible to participate in the Scholarship Program.

Apply for your chance to receive a $2,000 Scholarship towards your higher education. Please review our application guidelines below before applying.

A Coverdell Education Savings Account (CESA) allows you to easily start saving for your child's higher education expenses! 

A true gift of life is an education. With the rising costs associated with higher education, tuition, room and board, Pioneer Valley Credit Union offers a solution to help your family reach your education savings goals.

  • Select "Personal", your eligibility, and click the plus icon next to "Required Products".
